Information about visitors

• The site is a set of static pages. It has no accounts, forms that submit data, comments, or newsletters.
• It sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising, session-recording, or tag-management scripts.
• Every page loads only from this site's own domain: no third-party fonts, images, maps, embeds, or scripts.
• The NPI lookup validates the number in your browser and does not transmit or store what you type.
• The hosting provider that serves the pages may keep standard server request logs (such as IP address, requested address, time, and browser identification) for security and operations. We do not add tracking beyond that. The current hosting arrangement is described on the about page when the site is live.

Information about health care providers

Provider pages contain fields from the public CMS NPPES data dissemination file, which CMS releases under the Freedom of Information Act: names, NPIs, entity types, practice locations and telephone numbers, taxonomy codes, and dates. The methodology page lists exactly which fields are shown and which are never published (mailing addresses, fax numbers, authorized officials, license numbers, endpoints, email addresses, and tax identifiers). The official source is the NPPES NPI Registry.

Providers may ask that their practice street or telephone number be withheld from this site, or that a page be removed, through the corrections process.

If you email contact@npireference.com, we keep the message for as long as needed to respond and, for suppression requests, to keep the suppression in place. Do not send patient, clinical, or sensitive personal information.
